You can also try over-the-counter (OTC) antibacterial supplements if you're already on antibiotics. This will help reduce the chances of developing a yeast infection. You can also try OTC boric acid-based vaginal suppositories to help prevent yeast infections. This can only be used if yeast infection treatments do not show results. boric acid should be inserted into the skin in pill form. Although you can buy it over the counter, consult your doctor before using it to treat yeast infections.

Your doctor may also tell you to eat yogurt to reduce the chance of further infection. During periods, your doctor may recommend using coconut oil and also taking medication.

Prevent

Avoid using scented products near the face. Remove wet clothes immediately. Do not wear synthetic underwear. Do not wear tight clothing or underwear for long periods.
